At CCHSG we are very aware of the importance of guiding young people in their use of new media and technology. We are committed to ensuring that we educate and share information and good practice on how to manage safe use of the internet and technology with students and their parents.
If you are concerned in anyway about the online activity of a child who attends our school or need advice or to report a specific incident that has occurred online then please contact the school Safeguarding Lead or any member of the Designated Safeguarding Team.
E-Safety means taking necessary steps to stay safe online and to keep your friends and family safe too. It involves being aware of the risks that you could face whilst using technology, managing those risks in a in a way that facilities positive use of technology, and empowering you to take the correct action in the event of an online incident.

Our curriculum delivers a robust programme of e-safety education. Through dedicated topics on the Computing and Computer Science curriculum, cross-curricular opportunities in other subjects and discrete lessons and talks that make up part of the pastoral curriculum
To support families, our staff who are trained by the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Command – CEOP, run an annual parent and child workshop which aims to give practical advice and support to families negotiating the digital landscape. Our workshops are supplemented by a biannual e-safety event which involves students during the school day, staff training after school and a parental workshop in the evening. This event is run by the renowned EST – E-Safety Trainers, otherwise known as the “Two Johns”.

At CCHSG we endeavour to educate our learners to be digitally literate, and to possess the skills to maximise the potential of online learning whilst also being able to confidently manage the risks they may face online. We wish to empower the families of our students to be able to guide and advise their children appropriately on the use of technology and to
be able to take the correct decisive action should any incident occur.
