Applicants for places other than for the start of Year 7 will be tested if and when a place becomes available. The school holds an ‘enquiry list’ for applicants who wish to be considered for testing should a place become available. Where a vacancy does occur, all applicants on the enquiry list will be contacted and invited to sit the entrance tests. The tests are held at the discretion of the school. The tests and assessments will not aim to replicate the 11+ selection tests but will seek to establish whether the applicant can sustain the pace of the school’s classroom education, fit the levels of achievement of the relevant year group, and has sufficient knowledge and understanding to undertake the relevant year group’s existing programmes of study. An academic reference may also be sought from the applicant’s current school. The school reserves the right not to fill a place if the candidates are not judged to be of the required academic standard.
