In this unprecedented year our Year 13 students have demonstrated their resilience in the most challenging of circumstances. As the 2020 summer exam season was cancelled, this year’s cohort have been awarded grades by the exam boards, based on information supplied by the school. The exam boards have applied their own calculations, taking into account the performance of the school in previous years, to generate each individual student’s final grades.
The debate around the examination results will continue, but we should celebrate the amazing achievements of our Sixth Formers. Overall the academic attainment of the students is outstanding and their exceptional results represent the culmination of many years spent studying. We are so proud of them all.
We would also like to recognise the way in which Year 13 have supported each other and developed into kind, gracious and warm-hearted individuals. As a Year Group they have contributed much to the school community, demonstrating their caring attitude, for example by supporting younger students and by introducing a regular charity fundraising cabaret. They have shown creativity, innovation, talent, perseverance and determination.
We also thank our parents, staff, students and governors for their unstinting support and hard work throughout the year. The superb examination grades achieved have truly been earned and we wish all our Year 13 students every happiness and success in the future.
