We are delighted that the effort and achievement of our students, staff, governors and wider school community has been recognised by the Real Schools Guide. The guide places CCHSG first in the region for 2020. For a number of years the school has been recognised as one of the top performing schools in the county not only for attainment but also for the value added by the school to the overall academic progress of our students.
The Real Schools Guide, produced by the Local World News Group, aims to give a more comprehensive picture of school achievement than traditional league tables. It takes into account a range of different data points which, as well as GCSE results, Attainment 8 and Progress 8, also includes things like student-teacher ratios and student absence rates. We are proud that CCHSG provides an aspirational environment where students, from a diverse range of social and cultural backgrounds, can develop in a tolerant and respectful environment and emerge as confident young adults. Our ethos is to promote co-curricular and extracurricular activities, as well as academic success, support every student, foster individual talent and encourage team effort. We believe in dynamic teaching which inspires students to become independent, resilient and successful learners.
