Trips

The Modern Languages Department currently offers the following trips:

German exchange.

This is open to students studying GCSE and A Level. The German students are hosted by students in Year 10 & 12, who then have the opportunity to stay with their partner in Giessen in Germany in Year 11 or 13.

French exchange.

  • In 2010 37 Year 10 students were paired with French partners from a school in Trouville (Normandy) and spent a week with their partner's family.
  • In May 2010 45 Year 7 students went on a day trip to Boulogne.  They visited the Nausicea Sealife Centre and experienced the delights of a French supermarket.
  • In 2011 Year 10 and 11 students will be going on the French exchange in Trouville and stopping with a French family.
  • In 2011 Year 7 will have a day trip to Boulogne and Year 8 will have a day trip to St Omer (France)

Berlin

Every year we run a cultural visit to Berlin to give students in Year 13 the opportunity to extend their understanding of German culture and put the A2 topics in context.
